This Kaizen education provides the information-based problem solving process to engage and energize teams in creating big improvements within one week. Goal of Kaizen:

To gain the knowledge, confidence, and job aids to facilitate a Kaizen event effectively and efficiently in a high priority process area. Understand and use ~40 improvement and change templates and techniques.

Agenda: 

Training: 20 hours of education and application. Participants bring a process to class on which to focus and practice

  1. Kaizen event process overview - what and why.
  2. Selecting and confirming priority processes for the 1st Kaizen event(s).
  3. Preparing and engaging the team.
  4. Performing the Kaizen event
  5. Understanding the current process (goal, target, data, and process maps). 
  6. Problem solving: Identify priority wastes and issues, determine the root causes of problems, identify priority solutions, develop & test solutions. 
  7. Preparing for implementation (process ownership, new process map, standardized work procedures (SOPs), training materials, performance measures, and a team huddle to enable continual improvement. 
  8. Close out, Celebration, Recognition! Coaching, facilitating, and assisting in effective and efficient implementation. Measuring progress and performance. 


Application and Coaching: 4-5 days of on-site event co-lead. One-on-one coaching until results are achieved.

Certification: Participation in this course and completion of 1 project = Continuous Improvement Kaizen Black Belt CERTIFICATION.
